The Maine Coon is known for its large size, easygoing temperament, and rugged appearance, also known as the "gentle giant" of the cat family.

Females typically weigh 9-12 pounds

Males weigh 13-18 pounds with some males exceeding 20 pounds

A Maine Coon's long hair does not need much grooming. A weekly combing is usually all that is required to keep the fur in top condition.

The Maine Coon is America's only native long-haired cat, well suited to withstand the harsh New England climate.

 

 

 
 

 

CFA Champion Br’er Coon Harriet Potter is our first breeding female. She is a Brown Patch Classic Tabby. She comes from Br’er Coon Cattery which prides itself in breeding excellent, typey, Maine Coons that have wonderful loving personalities. Br’er Coon also strives to ensure their cats are free from any genetic abnormalities or traits and continue to exhibit the strength of constitution that has made the Maine Coon such a healthy, beautiful cat. We are so appreciative of Br’er Coon Maine Coons for working with us and mentoring us through the process of becoming a Maine Coon Cattery that strives for excellence. Through the tutelage of Ginger and Sammy McFaddin we are learning the ins and outs of Maine Coon breeding and have developed a wonderful friendship at the same time. Harriet is a beautiful Brown Patch female with striking color and pattern. She also exhibits the true Maine Coon coat that is easy to maintain and has an amazing texture that does not mat easily. She has a wonderful warm personality and gets along with all of the many animals and people in our household. She showed very successfully as a kitten winning Best Maine Coon Kitten at the age of 6 months and 6th best allbreed longhair at the same show. She won 2nd best of breed Maine Coon kitten at the International Cat Show in 2007 and can be seen many times on the TV program, “CatMinster”, that was produced from that show and shown on several cable channels. She also won 5th best in agility at the International Cat Show in 2007. Harriet became a Champion at her first show as an adult. She is a wonderful attentive mother that LOVES having babies and is healthiest and happiest when she is pregnant or nursing little ones.

CFA Champion Cabincoon Dreamweaver of ICOONS is a beautiful Brown Patch Classic Tabby w/ White who was born onJuly 31 of 2007. She received her Champion ribbons in one show on April 5&6, 2008. She has a large accumulation of Grand Points however we have chosen to postpone her show career as her age has dictated that she needs to be bred soon. She comes from the sire Grand Champion, Breed Winner, National Winner Cabincoon Dakota (Koti) and Champion Cabincoon Levi's & Lace (Peep). We are so excited to breed this girl and we know she will be an amazing addition to our breeding program. Look to our news page for updates on her progress.

CFA Champion Br'er Coon Fire and Ice of Y1Kat is a striking Silver Patch Mackerel Tabby w/ High White. She is the litter sister to our show kitty CFA Champion Br'er Coon Ketchup of ICOONS. She was born on April 30, 2008 and is a neat new color addition to our breeding program. Her sire is SGC RW Tanstaafl Beauregard and her dam is GC Y1Kat Star Search of Br'ercoon. We are excited about her beautiful color and the opportunity to produce silvers, silver patches, cameos, and smokes with and without white, and the opportunity to produce Mackerel Tabbies. We are co-owning her with Judy Lindeman of Y1Kat and want to thank her for her support, friendship and faith in our program.

Alicoons Sea Mist of ICOONS is a new addition that we have been blessed to aquire from Alicoons Maine Coons. She comes from the sire Grand Champion, Regional Winner Kankoonkats Rajah of Tropikoons and the dam of Distinguished Merit Grand Champion Tropikoons Sand Dollar of Alicoons. She was born January 19th, 2008 and we are very much looking forward to her future here with us both in the show ring and in our breeding program. ICOONS FireFox is a new baby girl out of our breeding male CFA CH Cabincoon Phoenix of ICOONS and dam CFA CH Br'er Coon Ketchup of ICOONS. She is beautiful Red Tabby w/ White girl that shows loads of promise. She was born on May 19th, 2008 and will begin her show career this fall. Keep an eye out for great things from this girl and beautiful babies in Fall of 2009!
